Downriver is one of the City of Spokane’s public golf courses, in northwest Spokane near the Spokane River. Its tree-lined setting makes it a natural choice for a classic local round.
Is Downriver right for your round?
Choose Downriver for a northwest-Spokane round among tall pines near the river and Riverside State Park. The City describes gently rolling terrain and a 6,130-yard par-71 layout. It is a useful comparison with Indian Canyon when you want to weigh river-side surroundings against the more pronounced canyon setting; this is not a claim that either course is universally easier.

Downriver is one of Spokane’s oldest courses, first built in 1916. It is compact and tree-lined, with smaller greens and changing uphill and downhill approach shots.
The Spokane River comes into view on several holes, adding to the setting without turning the round into a water-hazard test. A driving range and practice green make it easy to warm up before a round.

A March 2026 opening announcement listed range access, carts and restaurant service at opening; it is not evidence of today’s availability. Ask about booking windows, cancellations and dress requirements when reserving.
