A Spokane golf trip need not be all tee times. These seven options give non-golfing companions something to enjoy, provide a weather fallback, or help fill the hours after a round. Choose by location and energy rather than trying to cross town for every attraction.
Official information checked 10 October 2026. Suggested visit lengths below are our planning allowances, excluding travel and queues—not operator promises. Costs are categories unless a dated price is specifically quoted. Check current hours, tickets and access before leaving.
1. Riverfront Park and Spokane Falls
Best for: a first visit, a relaxed walk or meeting non-golfers after a round. Area: downtown. Allow: 45–90 minutes for a selected walk; more for attractions. Cost: park stroll versus separately paid rides and parking.
Make a short route around the river, falls viewpoints and park landmarks rather than treating the park as a checklist. It is an easy addition to a downtown-based golf weekend, but outdoor paths are not a rainy-day substitute.
The optional SkyRide provides an enclosed ride over the river: the City describes roughly 15–20 minutes, excluding the queue. It is ticketed and may close in high winds or heat; an enclosed cabin is not a guarantee it will operate in poor weather. Check mobility needs against the actual route and attraction information.

2. Manito Park gardens and Gaiser Conservatory
Best for: a quieter garden visit or companions who prefer walking to golf. Area: South Hill. Allow: 45–90 minutes outdoors or 20–40 minutes for a conservatory visit. Cost: free garden/conservatory entry.
Choose a few garden areas instead of expecting every display to peak in the same season. Manito Park is a public park, not Manito Country Club, and visiting it does not require club membership.
Gaiser Conservatory is a compact indoor alternative. At our check, the City lists 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., closed Wednesdays and specified holidays; verify before making it your weather backup. The conservatory prohibits tripods and portrait photography and allows service animals only. Garden gates and seasonal drives can have different hours from the wider park.

3. Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture
Best for: a rainy-day change of plan, regional history or art. Area: Browne’s Addition, west of downtown. Allow: 90 minutes–2½ hours. Cost: paid admission, with eligibility-based discounts.
The MAC offers a substantial indoor alternative without needing to commit to another outdoor activity. Check current exhibitions to decide whether they fit your group. Its regular published hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; do not assume a Monday opening.
Campbell House is included with regular admission but has a separate, narrower visiting window. Confirm access at check-in. Museum galleries are wheelchair accessible; the historic house is not ADA accessible. The museum lists free garage parking, but its café is currently marked temporarily closed—plan meals separately.

4. Gateway Regional Park and a short Centennial Trail walk
Best for: a simple outdoor pause around a Liberty Lake golf day. Area: 26715 E Appleway Avenue, Liberty Lake. Allow: 30–60 minutes for a picnic or selected out-and-back. Cost: no attraction ticket quoted here; check posted parking requirements.
The County lists picnic facilities, lawn space and access to the Centennial Trail beside the Spokane River. Set a turnaround time appropriate to your next tee time rather than attempting a long trail segment. Bring layers and respect other trail users.
This pairs geographically with MeadowWood or Liberty Lake; use a live map for the drive from the course. A river-side location does not mean swimming is appropriate.

5. Liberty Lake Regional Park—a seasonal outing
Best for: a picnic or a longer nature outing on a separate block of time. Area: 3707 S Zephyr Road, Liberty Lake. Allow: 1–2 hours for a short visit; substantially more for a long hike. Cost: seasonal vehicle parking charge.
The County lists trails, picnic areas and a seasonal swimming beach. The full Liberty Lake Loop is listed at 8.3 miles: it is not a quick post-round stroll. Choose a shorter route using the official map and your group’s ability.
Season check: the published 2026 park season ran May 15–September 27, with a $10 vehicle parking fee during that period. Those dates have passed at this article’s check. Confirm off-season access directly rather than assuming the beach, gate or facilities remain available. There is no lifeguard at the swimming beach.

6. Riverside State Park and the Bowl and Pitcher area
Best for: an outdoor outing with energy left after golf. Area: northwest Spokane; select the correct park access point. Allow: 60–120 minutes for a chosen short outing, plus travel. Cost: Discover Pass parking generally applies.
Use the State Parks Bowl and Pitcher detail map to choose your route. Riverside is a large park with multiple entrances: its headquarters address is not a substitute for directions to your chosen trailhead. Uneven trails or a bridge walk may not suit every companion.
Access check: State Parks currently displays fire-closure information and a 7 Mile Road construction detour expected through late October 2026. Check the official alerts and route before travelling; this guide does not certify any particular trail or entrance as open. Avoid adding a hike when daylight, weather or fatigue makes a simpler plan wiser.

7. A performance at the Fox Theater
Best for: a planned evening after golf. Area: downtown, 1001 W Sprague Avenue. Allow: the performance duration plus arrival time. Cost: event-specific tickets.
Look for a performance that fits your travel dates rather than assuming there is a show every night. The operator’s calendar includes the venue, ticket link and start time; some listed events can be at other venues, so check the actual listing.
Leave a buffer after golf for travel, dinner and getting changed. Check accessibility, age restrictions and ticket terms before buying; tickets are not included with a golf booking.

Fit an activity around your golf plan
- Downtown-based weekend: keep Riverfront for a flexible walk; reserve a Fox performance only after allowing a generous post-round buffer.
- Liberty Lake round: Gateway is a shorter outdoor option. Treat Regional Park as a separately confirmed seasonal outing.
- Non-golfing companions: offer the MAC or gardens as an independent plan, then agree a meeting time and transport.
- Rain stops play: check MAC or conservatory opening first. A wet outdoor walk or a weather-dependent SkyRide is not an equivalent indoor fallback.
