Indian Canyon Golf Course

Your Guide to the best golf courses in spokane Washington.

Considered one of the top public courses throughout the U.S., Indian Canyon Golf Course ranks as high as the top 25.The course was designed back in 1930, but due to the tedious approach, it took 5 years for the course to be open to the public.

Over the years it has hosted some of the biggest tournaments in the United States.

It's unique design is because it was built on a canyon wall. Needless to say, it's a bit hilly in comparison to the other Spokane Parks & Recreation golf courses. The course can be quite difficult thanks to the deceptive nature of hills on each hole. You don't normally see beginners on this 6,255 yard golf course.

The majority of the holes at Indian Canyon golf course are straight. However, the greens are small, elevated, and most are surrounded by bunkers. Here are a few other things you can expect:

Hole #1

The first hole at Indian Canyon golf course is a shorter par 5 (456 yards from the white tees). Even though it looks extremely narrow from afar, it's pretty open. However, you have to keep a close eye on the yardage, because it's all downhill. It's possible to reach the hole in 2, but you're going to have to hit a very small green.

The course backs up the first par 5 with an additional one on hole #2. It's much easier to gauge than the first hole, but it is a dogleg left. If you're a slicer, it might be wise to use your long irons and play it safe.

Tee Times

If you need a tee time for Indian Canyon golf course, its no different from any of the other Spokane Parks & Recreation courses. Anytime after 2pm, Monday-Friday is open to the public. Those needing to make a tee time before then, should do so at least a couple of days in advance. Anyone planning on playing Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, should make their reservations at least 8 days in advance.
