Indian Canyon

Indian Canyon is a historic City of Spokane course overlooking the west entrance to the city. It rewards thoughtful placement from the tee and a steady touch on its undulating greens.

Is Indian Canyon right for your round?

Choose Indian Canyon for a historic, hilly round with city views and an emphasis on accuracy. Its canyon-wall setting makes elevation an important part of the choice. If walking comfort is a deciding factor, ask about the terrain and available carts before reserving rather than judging the walk from the total yardage alone.

Choose your tees

The City publishes Blue ratings of 69.8/124 for men and 75.1/136 for women; White 68.3/121 and 73.4/132; Red 65.6/112 and 70.2/125. These pairs are course rating/slope, not tee lengths. Ask for the current scorecard and pick tees for your usual distances.

Course character

Indian Canyon was designed by H. Chandler Egan and opened in 1930. Built into a canyon wall, it plays with more elevation than the other City courses and rewards careful distance control.

Expect generally straight holes, elevated greens, and well-placed bunkers. The opening pair of par fives makes a strong start, but downhill yardages and small targets make club selection more important than raw distance.

Downriver offers a pine-lined City course with gently rolling terrain and river views rather than the canyon-wall setting. Liberty Lake is an east-valley par-70 alternative if your travel plans favour that area.
